The United States of Omerica! We are aiming for an OM in every State – can you help us to fill our map?

Here in our studio, we've been working hard in recent weeks – harder than ever, in fact.
In the last month alone, we've made an OM for President Obama, sent another to Tim Burton, created our first ever graduation gift OMs and sent a further 160 to Hollywood, to fame and fortune, to the MTV Movie Awards.
The reason? To send a message, to spread the word. To introduce people to our OMs and our philosophies. To connect. To put ourselves on the map.
It is with that last mission in mind that we'd like to unveil our latest project.
For what if, we thought, what if we could put ourselves on the map?
Literally, that is, right here, right now?
Here's what we came up with – The United States of OMerica.
Like it? We hope so, because you'll be seeing rather a lot of it in the coming weeks and months.
For this is our idea – this is our concept: We'd like a photograph of an OM in all 50 of our great United States. That's our goal, the ultimate in connection.
This here, this is our online pin board. Some states are filled, for the pictures have begun to come in already, but there are lots remaining.
If we've sent you an OM, send us back a picture, we love to see them in their new surroundings.
The Mid-West in particular is crying out for OMs. Do you live there? Do you have an OM?
Tell your friends, and let's populate the United States: one OM at a time, one state at a time. It's easy, email us at info@ilovemyom.com and we'll do the rest!
Come on Colorado!
We need you Nebraska!
Help us out Oregon!
Every state needs an OM.
Let's do it.

Green Grocer OM
There's someone we'd like you to meet, a new friend, a new member of the family, the OM family, that is.
He's our latest custom-made commission and, as you'll agree, he's rather special.
You see, he's green, one of a kind, a real looker, a firm favorite already.
It seems a bit of a shame, but he's going to be leaving our studio soon, destined for his new home, The Green Grocer in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
It's a good home – one of the best, in fact – run by friends of our studio, friends who share our qualities, our values, friends who appreciate a good OM.
So here he is, not just a good OM but a great OM.
Check him out on our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.206009286102970.44613.149083378462228

Two Weeks Left....
Jennifer Aniston, Daniel Radcliffe, Natalie Portman, Robert Downey Jr, Emma Watson, Zac Efron, Panache.
The connection? The MTV Movie Awards, of course.
The above-mentioned stars – Panache excluded – have each received a nomination for some of the leading prizes at next month's eagerly-awaited Hollywood event.
Panache is there already, of course, our 165-strong OM battalion having arrived safe and sound in California in preparation for this, one of the biggest nights on the entertainment calendar.
To think that our little friends, made right here in Saunderstown, might end up going home with such a major player – genuine A-listers, all of them – has left our studio abuzz.
The big night, our biggest, is fast approaching. There's a little over two weeks to go until our debut on the red carpets of LA. Some huge, huge stars will be there, but we're hoping to steal the show!
Stay tuned!

Mark Allison is getting there!

He's getting there – Mark Allison, that is – slowly, surely, awe-inspiringly, crossing our great country, making connections, doing good, living his dream.
Mark's our friend, our coast-to-coast runner, travelling – amazingly, you'll agree – from West to East, on foot, 3100 miles in just 100 days.
Today's his 20th and the numbers tell their own tale: Four states – California, Nebraska, Arizona, Utah – so far, more than 500 miles, two time zones, his fund-raising total an impressive $55,000 and counting. It's that last figure that's the most important for, lest we forget, Mark is putting himself through all this to raise funds for good causes, causes close to his heart.
He's doing great but there's a great distance still to go – more than 2500 miles and almost $30,000. There's nothing we can do to help him with the former, but the latter, well, that's a different matter.
Our donation to the Run Geordie Run project has been banked. Perhaps you'd like to join us in sending Mark a small sum to help him reach his target. We know he'd be grateful, we know it'd be put to great use.
If you do, please visit www.justgiving.com/rungeordierun1 or www.justgiving.com/rungeordierun2 or check out Mark's excellent blog at www.rungeordierun.com for further details of the causes that will benefit from this super-human effort and to follow his impressive progress as he inches closer to the finish line in NYC.
It wasn't until earlier today, when reading Mark's blog, in fact, that we learned that this is just the latest in a long line of fund-raising efforts that our admirable athlete has embarked upon.
His total, to date, stands at almost $140,000. Unbelievable!
Mark, once again, we salute you!
Keep up the good work and Run Geordie Run!

TEAM GEORGE!

Following our Facebook page? No?
Well, there's a lot going on there, more than ever, in fact.
If you are amongst our fast-growing community, thanks for your support. You'll have seen our request, our appeal, posted earlier this week. It was titled Everyone deserves an OM.
In short, we're looking for suggestions for places to send our OMs, for people deserving a small friend, people seeking support, looking for a lift, hoping for a little happiness.
Our search has just begun, but we've found our first cause, perhaps our greatest cause yet, a cause so inspiring that we just have to get involved.
This cause touched us here in Saunderstown and we're certain it'll touch you too. This cause is connective. This cause is called Team George.
Team George is a small charity, established to help and support George Bertie Johnson, a one-year-old in England suffering from a rare condition that has caused him to spend his entire life in hospital.
George cannot eat or drink and has to be fed through his heart. George has been through a tremendous deal in his short life. George is still smiling, check it out, it's infectious!
George is a beautiful little man and here in Rhode Island, we're in awe of him. But it's not just George, it's the people around him, the people he has connected, it's his team, Team George.
Team George, through their excellent website and fast-growing Facebook page (3137 followers at the last count), exist to help further George's diagnosis and support his treatment, to raise awareness and funds, and to promote information and support for other children suffering similar conditions.
In posting this blog, we hope we're helping. Like George himself, Team George inspires us here in Saunderstown. Three thousand miles might separate us, but we feel connected and we want to join the team.
Our plan is, of course, to send George an OM to watch over him in hospital, to shine a light, to show our support. Our OMs are going to some important people these days, but none are as important, none as inspirational as this brave little fighter in his hospital bed.
Please check out Team George on Facebook http://en-gb.facebook.com/pages/Team-George/198383353539966?sk=info or visit the website http://www.wix.com/teamgeorge01/teamgeorge and let's help our friends achieve their aims. Be sure to take a moment to appreciate that smile, that glint in George's eyes, be sure to be inspired, be sure to send your support, be sure to keep him in your thoughts.
Go George, you have our full support here in Rhode Island.
Team George, we salute you.
Keep up the good work!
Blessings

Who Dares Wins!
Stop the ride, we want to get off!
Ha!
Not likely, we're just kidding, although we wouldn't complain too much if the rollercoaster slowed down a little for a short while whilst we catch our breath.
What a week!
Perhaps the biggest, the busiest certainly, in OM history, one of the craziest times we've known, one of the most tiring for sure.
The order was tall, but do you know what? We've done it, cracked it, signed, sealed and delivered. The British SAS have as their motto Who dares wins. Perhaps we should adopt it, because we dared in our studio here in Saunderstown and we're ready for our rewards.
Let's, for a moment, recap. Take a minute and consider, if you will, the following:
This week, right here in Rhode Island, we have hand-painted, packaged and parcelled 160 unique, bespoke and brilliant OMs, our all-time biggest batch, destined for stardom at this summer's MTV Movie Awards on the red carpets of Los Angeles.
That is an achievement in itself, an around-the-clock effort that required us to overcome cramp, exhaustion and some formidable paint fumes en route. But it's not all.
No sir, because we've also designed and crafted a one-off, new-look OM for Tim Burton, film-maker extraordinaire, a genuine movie mogul, one of Hollywood's biggest names.
See, you're impressed now, right?
But our efforts don't stop there, not at all. For in recent days, we've also had to complete a custom commission that required us to make 20 OMs for graduation gifts, each one hand-crafted right here in our studio and painted in school colors.
But still there's more, much more as our regular orders have continued pouring in at a rate that, we don't mind admitting, has pushed us to new limits.
There's just so much going on right now, although don't interpret that as a complaint. Given that Rhode Island was at the forefront of the Industrial Revolution, people here are used to working hard. In our studio we are thrilled to continue that tradition and have no qualms about putting in a shift.
Besides, if we are this snowed under, we must be doing something right. Right? That's what we think, anyway, so keep it coming. Bring it on. Thick and fast, it's how we like it.
It has been challenging, but it's just growing pains and it’s all good.
The best thing is that we are growing, all the time, day by day, week by week. Bigger. Better. Stronger.
We're a lot like our friend, Mark Allison. He’s running across the United States, averaging 30 miles a day, aiming to make it to NYC on August 8. That's tough, real tough. This – this thing we're doing, right here in Saunderstown – is our coast-to-coast journey, this challenge that we've just risen to is our Mojave Desert, each OM is our latest mile, bringing us closer, ever closer, to our final destination, sometimes in small steps, sometimes in giant strides, but getting there little by little, all the time.
Mark Allison will make it, make no mistake, with all his support and connections. So will we, because of all our support and connections. Because of you!
The road is long and there are many winding turns, for sure. But we're still fighting fit – or at least, we will be after the weekend – and we're relishing next week, the next order, the next challenge.
This is just the beginning, and we're up for more.
Thank you for all your support and connections, keep them coming!
Because connected, we can do this even better.

Special Occasion
It is proving to be a year of firsts for us in Saunderstown, with our projects getting bigger, better and more exciting as we continue to go from strength to strength.
First the MTV Movie Awards, then our first-ever OM wedding.
Now, we're delighted to report, we're preparing for our graduation debut having received a rather exciting custom commission.
Our latest order requires us to make 20 OMs to be given as graduation gifts at a school in Pennsylvania. The OM chosen for this special occasion is OMME, rather fitting given that she is a teacher, helping us to learn, lending us her wisdom.
These special-edition OMs have been painted in school colors and will be presented, by our customer's daughter, to 17 classmates and three teachers later this year.
It goes without saying that this is an order we were delighted to accept and that the connections on offer could not excite us more.
The timing isn't great, granted, although with 160 OMs to create for this summer's MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles, another 20 was neither here nor there!
It's true to say that here in Saunderstown, we've never been busier, our projects have never been more varied and our work has never been so exciting.
This is how we like it!
The word is spreading and our efforts are paying off.
Having ordered her 20 graduation OMs our customer was then so inspired by our newly-written OM stories that she bought a further four for herself.
That's what we call a connection!
Our outgoing mail last week included four OMs sent to the UK, and orders continue to come in from across the United States and beyond.
Have you ordered your OM yet?
Perhaps now is the time!
It couldn't be easier and maybe you'll receive a golden ticket.
Our latest one – Cheleb – was very gratefully received when he reached his new home in England.
Please continue to support us, please continue to visit us, please tell your friends.
We're growing all the time.
Because we're all connected.

Army of OMs
We've never been to Xi'an, one of China's oldest cities, the capital of the Shaanxi province, situated deep in the heart of a giant country's sprawling mainland.
We're well aware of its most famous inhabitants, however, and you will be too. For it was here, in the Springtime of 1974, that farmers digging a well unearthed the most incredible secret.
Buried deep in the earth, 2.5km to the east of Mount Li, was the awe-inspiring Terracotta Army, a quite staggering collection of clay-based ceramic figures, created well over 2,000 years earlier.
In this unusual army's ranks there were more than 8,000 soldiers, almost 700 horses and 130 chariots, the sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, China's first-ever emperor.
You might question the relevance to us in modern-day Saunderstown. That is, until you've seen these rare photographs from deep inside OM HQ.
Cameras are not, as a rule, allowed inside our studio – we have to protect our creative secrets, after all – but for this we've made an exception. Some things have to be seen. This is one such thing.
So we are pleased to present to you the OM Army, created right here in Rhode Island, 160-strong and preparing to march on Los Angeles this spring.
Yes, these are the fortunate OMs created for our debut at the forthcoming MTV Movie Awards in California. The similarities are clear, but unlike their older Chinese counterparts, this is not a battalion to be buried.
It has been hard work and we've pulled one or two all-nighters, but we're delighted to report that a full complement of OMs have been made for this momentous occasion, and are currently awaiting decoration. First we need to finalise which OMs to send. Have you seen our Facebook poll?
Their number might be, at this time, smaller than the Terracotta Army, but the OM Army, we are thrilled to report, is growing fast. To 8000? It's within our sights. To 100,000,000? That's our aim.
Please help us because, with your assistance, who knows what the historians of the future might have to say about us, and our work. Get involved. Let's connect. OM.

Mark Allison – aka Run Geordie Run – Will be starting this morning at 9:00 am from Huntington Beach on his opening 32 mile leg of his astonishing quest, raising funds for good causes in the UK, making new friends and connections with each and every step.
His mascot and lucky-charm, Chara (our OM), will be alongside him and we are looking forward to charting Mark's progress as he makes his way across the United States, getting ever closer to home and his ambitious fundraising target.

MARK ALLISON, RUN FOR HOME
Mark Allison left his home Tuesday morning with mixed feelings and a suitcase bulging under the strain of several pairs of running shoes.
The next time he sees it, and his family, it will be mid-August and he’ll be requiring a rest.
Mark’s road is long, but we’re glad to share it with him.
Mark – aka Run Geordie Run – is travelling to Los Angeles to make the final preparations for his astonishing expedition, a 3100-mile run across the United States in just 100 days.
He’ll leave Huntington Beach in California on Sunday, on foot, and run 32 miles a day, until reaching his final destination, Coney Island, New York, on August 8.
Here in Saunderstown, we’re delighted to support Mark as he strives to raise funds for St Benedict’s Hospice and The Children’s Foundation, good causes in the UK close to his heart.
It goes without saying that we’re thrilled that Mark has chosen Chara – one of our OMs, made right here in Rhode Island – to be his official mascot and good luck charm.
Prior to Mark’s departure from the UK, we sent him Chara, who he chose to help remind him of his wife Katy and son Jack, during his long and difficult challenge.
Mark agreed to take Chara on the road with him as he passes through 13 states on his incredible coast-to-coast route. We also sent Jack an OM to help remind him of his dad’s remarkable endeavour.
Here at OM HQ, we’re proud to support Mark, who is hoping to raise just over $81,000 for his good causes.
He is over halfway to reaching that target.
We will be charting Mark and Chara’s progress across the United States here on our blog, our website and our Facebook page so check back often for the latest news on Mark.
In the meantime, if you’d like to learn more about Mark, please visitwww.rungeordierun.com or fan Mark on his Facebook page .

Continual Growth!
|
Benjamin Franklin once remarked that "without continual growth and progress, such words as 'improvement', 'achievement' and 'success' have no meaning". Such words are at the heart of all that we're striving for here in Saunderstown. Given Franklin's feelings on the subject, it's perhaps as well that continual growth and progress have such a pivotal role in our plans. Take our website, for instance. In addition to a revamped blog that we're thrilled to report is fast gaining followers, we're adding to our online offerings all the time. The aim? To provide a detailed account of who we are, what we're doing, and why we're doing it. To help us to move forward, to help us explain ourselves, to spread the word and to help us connect. So please take a look at our website, i love my OM, and see what we're doing. If you haven't visited for a short while be sure to check out our beautifully-told OM stories, all updated and all online. Have feedback? We have just introduced a testimonial section so you can tell us what you think of our work. Your thoughts are important to us so please feel free to get involved. If you'd like to learn about the artist, founder and creative spirit behind OM by Miquette, please see our About Miquette Bishop section, introduced just this week. Our latest feature focuses on our artist-painted OMs, unique items soon to be available through an online-auction site. Please check out our Uli Brahmst OM, hand-painted in Rhode Island. More are following fast behind. Once progress starts there can be no stopping it and we are gaining in momentum all the time. This is just the beginning for us, for we have countless ideas that we relish introducing during the coming weeks and months. Please keep visiting us, please subscribe to our blog www.allconnectedblog.wordpress.com, and please keep contributing. Because connected, we can improve. Connected, we can achieve. Connected, we can succeed. Being all connected, progress and growth: it's what we're all about.
